Having worked alongside major industry contractors including Weeks Marine and Kiewit Infrastructure Group, Alex brings extensive expertise in commercial marine infrastructure, pile installation, dock construction, boat lift systems, and waterfront development. Under his leadership, Southern Boat Lift has built a reputation for delivering high-quality marine construction solutions with efficient project execution, dependable craftsmanship, and professional service. The company specializes in commercial and residential waterfront projects throughout Florida, providing durable, code-compliant construction tailored to the demands of coastal environments.

Clay Smith is a seasoned operational leader, and manager with over two decades of experience directing high-stakes, technically complex missions and infrastructure projects. As a partner and Manager at Southern Boat Lift, he combines rigorous military

precision, advanced aviation logistics, and hands-on engineering expertise to oversee the execution of robust marine construction solutions.

Clay’s foundation in structural disciplines began at the United States Naval Academy, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 1997. He then embarked on a distinguished 22-year career as a United States Navy Officer.
